Aurora grew up in a close-knit family full of love. When her sister Gaia was taken away at 5 years old to attend something known as the “Elite School”, Aurora knew something was terribly wrong. Gaia was never heard from again. Aurora never gave up hope, and she made every choice in her life with one aim: to find her. Plagued with dreams of Gaia growing up as the subject of a massive experiment, Aurora seeks to find the truth behind the world she lives in. She leaves the comfort of her home in the Science Academy, the height of research on the space station The Magellan. Will she survive her turbulent journey, as she joins the military to gain access to the secrets that may lead her to find Gaia again?
When I first conceived of this story, I wanted a story whose core fundamental basis was that of family, and sisterhood. I thought to myself, what would I do if my sister was ever taken away? I would march to the ends of the world and back again to protect my family, and so would Aurora.
This is a story of standing up for your beliefs, and fighting even when everyone around you turns a blind eye.
On her journey, Aurora will meet many different people that will challenge her. People that will help her and become her friends, people that will hurt her and become her enemies. There are those who will love her, and those she will love. But at the end of the day, how will these experiences help or hurt her in her ultimate goal?
The way I see things, a person, and a character, has to find balance.
It is a struggle, between friendship, love, and success. Most people in life will only achieve two points of the triangle, and will struggle to maintain the third. Some people sacrifice their friendships for love and success. Some will sacrifice success for friendship and love. Some will sacrifice love in order to maintain friendships while achieving success. If you can manage to achieve all three, then you have achieved the ultimate balance, and are leaving a self-actualized life.
Follow Aurora on her journey as she seeks to rescue her sister!
In the next blog entry, look forward to learning more about the secondary characters in the story.
